Dear Patron of the Arts:
I invite you to become a member of the Cheatham Street Music Foundation.
CSMF is a Texas Non-Profit corporation (tax exempt under IRS § 501(c)(3)) dedicated to developing, promoting, preserving and perpetuating Texas music. Some of our planned activities include: acquiring and maintaining the historic Cheatham Street Warehouse building as a public venue for Texas music, and seeking its designation as a Texas historical landmark; conducting activities that promote the advancement of education in the art, craft and business of songwriting, such as songwriting classes, workshops, seminars, public forums, panels, lectures, concerts and similar programs, and; promoting, developing and nurturing songwriters and musicians through opportunities to perform music and participate in songwriting contests. CSMF seeks to encourage a greater public understanding of the history of Texas music through community based interaction between songwriters, performance artists and civic and educational groups in order to foster a deeper appreciation of the role of music in the economic, social and cultural life of Texas.
In essence, the CSMF vision is about nurturing Texas music and songwriters. You, through your tax-deductable membership contribution, will help to make this vision a reality.
CSMF has five suggested levels of tax-deductable yearly membership contributions: $35, $100, $250, $500 and $1,000. I’m inviting you to be part of CSMF by choosing the level you feel is appropriate. In response, you will receive your CSMF membership card, and you’ll know you played a part in helping preserve Cheatham Street Warehouse and in supporting the next generation of Texas Songwriters.
So, please, send in your donation today – and be a part of the CSMF vision!
Sincerely,
Kent Finlay, President CSMF
